The impressive XVII century 60 acre estate of the Chateau de Bajac is one of France’s most impressive holiday castles. The chateau can sleep up to 22 guests in great comfort; there is also superb pool, extensive grounds and a fish pond. The Orangery comes equipped with a home cinema!
Henri IV of France stayed at the Chateau de Bajac in 1565 whilst taking part in a hunting trip with friends. A plaque in the nearby chapel commemorates the Royal visit. The local Bordeaux wines that the King was so partial to are world renowned. The famous St. Emilion winery is just down the road and Toulouse is also with in easy reach.
All in all the Chateau de Bajac is heavenly for relaxation and also makes an excellent base for exploring both the Bordeaux and Dordogne regions.

Most amazing chateau, great location to visit some stunning French towns in the area. The chateau was pristine clean when we arrived which is great when you have slight OCD! Very impressed with how well the owners kept it generally clean during our stay and were not bothered at all by noise levels from our large party's every night! It was my husbands 50th and we had 3 sets of friends flying in over two weeks - 48 people altogether which meant a continuous party! I'm glad I didn't know the owners live in their own section of the chateau before I went as it would have put me off booking it but they really don't interfere. The only time having them there that we felt uncomfortable was when he came to empty the bins very early in the mornings and sometimes if we hadnt fully cleaned up from the night before he would return later to tell us off. It is fine to do this but we were of course going to clean up as we did each night before bed and any left overs in the morning but just not keen to get up before 7 to do it, so a bit like your head teacher checking your dorm! But other than that we. Ever saw him. Immaculate pool although poolside chairs and chairs around the large glass dining table were all well used and a bit old and kept breaking. We fixed as we went through the weeks and laughed as so eons dining chair completely collapsed whilst eating their dinner, fortunately without injury as he suddenly fell to the floor. Not so funny when we were charged for a replacement. So the only other gripe was that the owner is penny pinching, charging for a couple of broken glasses and an old chair which was carelessly glued before we got there. I guess he charges every guest for these old chairs! But a great place to stay and the visitors book proves many return.

Just to let you know what a splendid holiday we had August 6 - 13. The Chateau was marvellous Mark and Titaina were most helpful and we all had an absolutely splendid time. They don't quite understand that when it gets hot people need a sheet not an enormous duvet, that' s obviously not part of the normal service - fortunately we were able to manage but had it been any hotter the absence of a top sheet might have been a problem. Just a point to file away. The place was spotless and beautifully arranged - the pool room just the right amount of informality that the children could enjoy without us worrying too much that it was all a bit grand. The house is certainly on the formal side and more suited to adults. We couldn't have had a better time. I used a caterer once which was a great success and the kitchen was provided with everything we could need. I used their daughter as femme de menage every day for a couple of hours and that was also very easily arranged. Directions to the chateau are a bit hit and miss but we worked it out. Thank you.
