There are many rivers close by, none more renowned than the Dordogne river, the lifeblood of a region famed for stunning natural scenery, beautiful medieval towns and, of course, excellent food and wine.

The chateau is 5 minutes drive from the welcoming village of Saint Privat which has all conveniences including two bakeries, two small supermarkets, a post office, banking, restaurants, bar and tabac. Close by you will find the picturesque medieval towns of Argentat (below left) and Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne whilst Collonges la Rouges (below right), the prettiest village in France, is just and hour and a half away.
