This stunning chateau dates back to 1296 and, during the 15th Century, was part of lands owned by Henry IV of England. Whilst retaining the character and appearance of a historic building, the property has been totally refurbished and now benefits from all modern facilities such as new bathrooms, a large handmade kitchen and exquisite interior decoration. The chateau’s internal area comprises some 5,500 square feet and also has its own 2,580 sq. ft. function room with kitchen and cloakrooms that can be used for conferences, meetings or receptions. A hamper of local produce to welcome our guests will be provided on arrival.
Set in its own parkland of some twenty acres and surrounded by vineyards, rolling fields, woods and its own lake, this property offers complete privacy whilst being only 5 miles from the nearest town. The chateau enjoys an elevated position with southerly vistas to the Pyrenees and three terraces where visitors can enjoy the wonderful scenery in a calm and relaxing environment. All have tables and chairs for a choice of outside dining. Known as the Tuscany of France, this area enjoys long, hot summers and temperate winters with spring and autumn temperatures hovering in the 60s and 70s.
The chateau is situated in the heart of Gascony, famous for Armagnac and wine production, foie gras and fabulous cheese. It is also the homeland of the Three Muskateers! As the area has no factories or allied pollution the air is extremely clean demonstrated by the various lichens that grow in the locality. The area has an abundance of wild life including deer, hares, red squirrels, eagles, kingfishers and migratory birds such as hoopoes and swallows.
International airports are located at Bordeaux, Bergerac, Toulouse and Pau, all within one and a half hour’s drive. TGV services to Paris and the Mediterranean run from Agen, about 45 minutes away.
