Originating from the 14th century the Manoir de Chalandes is renowned for its astonishing private gardens on the edge of the Loire, Brittany and the River Villaine. The Manoir even has its own spa and is a rare treat for those who enjoy pure relaxation and style. Interestingly the Manoir de Chalandes was once a safe house during the 2nd World War, it stood centrally to the French Resistance movement lead by Marie Moquet.
The Manoir de Chalandes is ideal for parties, anniversaries, weddings, clay pigeon shoots, marvellous banquets and world class dinners with the regions best wines to accompany them. Stay for a day, a weekend or longer. Michelle, the owner, is a superb host and will make sure you are well catered for during your stay.
The famous gardens at the Manoir de Chalandes were designed by a leading landscape gardener to the Queen, called Alan Manson. Mason wanted to create a vision of royalty that would survive all seasons. There are over 10,000 species of plants and flowers, many that are both rare and exotic. Parts of the gardens are open to the public, however, the gardens are so vast that they do not interfere with your holiday experience or privacy.
