The Chateau Veillete manages to be both simple and glamorous at the same time. It is one of the most significant historical châteaux in France. Designed by Jules Hardouin-Mansart and Le Notre at the same time as they designed Versailes, it became known as "Le Petite Versailles”. More recently, it provided the setting for the blockbuster film "The DaVinci Code" and provides a magnificent location any special event, from weddings, family vacations and elegant parties, to seminars, product promotions and business meetings.
The interior of Chateau Veillete is truly spectacular. An elegant dining room contains the original 17th Century carved stone buffet, there are magnificent boiseries that have dessus-de-deportes by Francois Boucher. There is also an impressive octagonal salon in white and blue, and a limestone entry hall which epitomises the classicism of the 17th Century.
All 15 en suite bedrooms were renovated between 1999 and 2001, and now each have a telephone system as a well as wireless Internet connection. The kitchen, also remodelled in 2001, has top of the range commercial appliances, and there are also two service kitchens should they be required. A gym, billiard room and banquet room complete the range of up to date, modern facilities.
The grounds are no less impressive. The exclusive and peaceful setting can provide a beautiful backdrop for guests to pursue outdoor activities including jogging, biking, hunting, the swimming pool, and the new tennis court. The 185+ acres of garden extends behind the Chateau Veillete, with two rectangular lakes, which attract swans, ducks, wading birds and fish. The magnificent cascade and fountain can be compared to the one at Louis XIV's Chateau Marly, topped by a Neptune. There are a number of outbuildings, including a spacious chapel with next door reception room, and a stables and green house.
The chateau’s entry hall with its limestone walls has been recognised as a superb exemplar of 17th-century classicism, and the dining room has a buffet of carved stone. Every one of the limestone-walled bedrooms enjoys its own bathroom, whilst guests can also make use of the gym, billiard room, music room, library, wine tasting room, banquet room and chapel.
Le Notre’s extensive gardens include two lakes, which provide a home for ducks, swans, and fish. The fountain – topped with a likeness of Neptune and with a cascade falling from its base - is one of many indirect effects of the Sun King’s ambitions upon Chateau Veillete. They have been noted as being similar to those at Louis XIV’s beloved Chateau de Marly, which is now a ruin.
The grounds provide a range of options to make the most of the outdoors, from enjoying taking a walk along the small river, fishing, or hunting for small game in the woods to exploring the greenhouse and horse riding from the onsite stable. Guests can also make use of the swimming pool, tennis, and paths to either take a bike ride or go for a run.
Ground Floor: Entry Foyer with stone floor and grand stone staircase with Cloak room, Telephone/computer room, Grand Salon, Music Salon, Library, Formal Dining room, and a Service kitchen. Owner’s office and Suite is behind stone staircase.
Main Chateau: Upstairs has a wide hallway with bedrooms on each side symmetrically. Total 10 bedrooms all with private bathrooms. Some come with fireplace and views of the lake and all have views of the garden.
West Wing: Upstairs in the kitchen building there are 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. This building also houses the main kitchen, laundry room, staff kitchen and storage rooms.
Chapel Building: Chapel, chapel foyer, billiard room with bar and fireplace, Orangerie for reception or dinner party.

The nearest airport is Paris just 40km away. There are 2 towns within 3km of the chateau, Condecourt and Tessacourt-sur-Aubette.
La Conciergerie: If you’re after night life in Paris, try tickets to Le Lido, Le Moulin Rouge, or Crazy Horse, as well as romantic Seine River cruises and night tours of the City, (with or without dinner). No tickets are needed as a voucher is issued directly online.
The Louvre: Since the Middle Ages, the development of the Louvre Palace has been exceptional. Mostly famous now for its museum, it has been marked over time by both the major events of French history, and the number of architects and decorators who have left their mark on it. An easy day trip from the chateau.
Versailles: The designer of the gardens at Chateau de Villette, also designed the landscape at Versailles. André Le Nôtre (1613-1700) was an expert in botany, architecture and painting, as well being an art collector. Although he had already worked for the king on many sites, Versailles provided a particular challenge with its marshland and narrow hillock. Yet here he managed to perfect the archetypal French-style formal gardens. The Sun King himself commissioned and inspired the design and wrote a guide on how to show the grounds to visitors called 'The Way to Present the Gardens of Versailles'.
Paris and the surrounding area: Within 30 to 40 minutes easy driving from the Chateau, you can reach Paris, Versailles, Maison de Van Gogh at Auvers Sur-Oise, Chateau Chantilly, and Vaux le Vicomte. Monet's Home and Garden at Giverny: Monet worked and lived within half an hour of the chateau. A great place to explore at your leisure and enjoy lunch in the lovely garden. (Garden open April to October).
The chateau is within the Vexin Regional Nature Park, which offers numerous activities such as hunting, fishing, tennis biking, hiking, horseback riding, and pool. There are also five golf courses within 10 to 15 minutes drive from the chateau.
