Chateau De Baloigne

Chateau De Baloigne sits in the popular Ardeche region of south eastern France and for those seeking comfort, character and style, this medieval castle is the perfect choice for a luxury chateau holiday! This fabulous self-catering chateau is surrounded by medieval ruins providing a truly atmospheric holiday experience. There is even a river than guests can swim in just 100m from the chateau.

The Chateau De Baloigne, and indeed the whole estate, is protected by the government as a Historic Monument. However, the ancient building has been combined with 21st century touches such as a fully fitted kitchen, hot and cold running water and modern bathrooms with showers. The décor is traditionally French with a few Spanish touches.

The Chateau De Baloigne can sleep up to 15 guests in five double bedrooms and a dormitory, all of which overlook the medieval ruins. There is also table tennis, various dining terraces, a beautiful old open fire and a library.

On the lower ground floor the communal reception rooms include a dining room with vaulted ceilings, a large kitchen, a dining terrace (ideal for breakfast and dinner), a living room with an open fire and a library. There is also a double bedroom with private shower.

On the ground floor there is a further living room, and a double bedroom and bathroom (ideal for the elderly).

On the first floor there are 3 doubles and a dormitory room. There are a further 3 bathrooms that are either private or en-suite. There's also an upper covered terrace, perfect for lunch, siestas and aperitifs!

Outside you will enjoy the dramatic listed medieval ruins! There is also a table tennis table. There is even a river than guests can swim in just 100m from the chateau.

The nearby Ardeche river is a great spot to picnic, swim or fish! There are plenty of water sport activities locally and the crocodile park nearby is also worth a visit!

All the necessary shops, services and restaurants are 4km away at the charming Saint Michel de Boulogne. Lyon is 100km away.

Maid service is included once during a 4-day booking and twice during a weekly booking.

- Security deposit: €1000. The security deposit is paid on arrival and will be refunded in full after departure subject to damage inspection.
- Linen & towels: All linen and towels are included in the rental price.
