Chateau De Bouji And Gites

The Chateau de Bouji is a spectacularly romantic 17th Century Chateau nestling in the foothills of the mountains on the western edge of the Rhone Valley. Halfway between Lyon and Marseilles, the Chateau catches the best of the continental and Mediterranean climates.

Set in beautiful rolling hills on the edge of the Rhone Valley, the Château de Bouji is truly a jewel. The chateau has 13 double bedrooms to sleep up to 30 guests. Also on site are 2 cottages and an apartment that can be hired in conjunction with the chateau for groups of up to 60. There are 2 swimming pools on the estate and separate private gardens (one for the chateau and one for the cottages) so if you only want to rent the chateau your group will have complete privacy.

The property is an extremely elegant Château estate surrounded by 26 hectares of its own grounds with woodland, parkland, formal gardens, sunny terraces, barbecues and 2 heated swimming pools (one for the chateau and one shared amongst the cottages).

Chateau
The ground floor consists of a large salon and dining room (seats 90) with open fireplaces, entrance hall kitchen and breakfast room. There is satellite TV, a DVD player, HiFi and beautiful views over the grounds. The kitchen is enormous and has all the facilities you could possibly need during your stay!

On the upper floors there are 13 large double rooms with en-suite or adjoining bathrooms. Extra beds can be added to a number of the rooms to sleep up to 30 in the chateau itself.

In the grounds you will find a private heated swimming pool. Its hidden location and 63 acres of wooded hillside provide a truly tranquil and private setting. Also within the grounds are various terraces, a BBQ area, private garden and plenty of space for parking. The cottages within the estate have their own private grounds and pool.

Cottages
In the grounds of the Château there are three traditional Ardeche cottages, each with their own unique character and charm. All cottages are furnished to a superior standard with a fully equipped kitchen with hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and washing machine. The cottages each have their own private garden, patio and barbecue area, and access to a shared swimming pool set in formal gardens. There is also a games room with a table-tennis table.

Le Pigeonnier: As the name suggests, le Pigeonnier is the original pigeon loft. This cottage has a spectacular stone vaulted ceiling in the living room. It is a large and spacious cottage which can sleep 8-10 guests.

La Grange: A slightly smaller cottage, providing accommodation for 4 guests in a wonderfully converted barn that retains its imposing stone arch and characteristic oval windows.

La Petite Ferme: This is the original farmhouse dating back to before 1750 which still retains its stone bread-oven and large open fireplace. The Petite Ferme can accommodate 8 guests, with a playroom for the children and a large living area on the ground floor.

The chateau is within 15 minutes of the main autoroute and 40 minutes from a high speed (TGV) train to Paris (2 hours) or London (5 hours). The excellent international airport of Lyon is only 90 minutes away.

The chateau makes the perfect base to explore the Ardeche and Drome, from Lyon to Avignon. This is really a perfect base for a family holiday. There is so much to see and do - from day trips to Lyon (gastronomic centre of France!) and Avignon, local vineyards, canoeing, swimming in the rivers, climbing, caving or just relaxing in this 'little bit of paradise'. Outdoor concerts on Fridays in summer and lots of space for the kids to run wild!

While the chateau is available on a self-catering basis, we can arrange catering by local caterers and can ourselves provide a B&B service.

Maid service, catering, babysitting and any other services can be arranged with prior notice on request.

We have a team of Wedding Administrators who will assist you in planning the detail of the day. They, with you, will develop a detailed timetable for the day to ensure a perfect flow.

We have a team of Banqueting Chefs who will produce perfect food, on site, for your guests to enjoy.

We have a team of Wedding Day Managers supported by highly trained teams of waiters and waitresses who will ensure that everything on the day goes to plan - with style and pleasure!

Your Wedding Day will be exclusive and special to you and will be remembered by all as a terrific day.

- End of stay cleaning: Included, providing the chateau is left in reasonable condition.

- It is recommended that all guests take out insurance to cover against potential cancellation and any accidental damage caused during your stay at the property.
