Chateau de Combe is a romantic 18th century hillside chateau surrounded by extensive grounds and with spectacular views of the rolling Quercy countryside. The Chateau offers accommodation in a choice of five beautifully appointed suites, decorated with family heirlooms and contemporary pieces.

Exquisitely preserved and constructed of pale local limestone, with a roof of ancient terracotta tiles, the house is built around a courtyard containing an old stone well, and square towers stand at either end of the main facade.

The gardens and terraces surround the Chateau, offering guests the opportunity to bask in the sunshine, retreat with a book to a quiet shady corner, or enjoy the sumptuous new swimming pool, all in the peace of the countryside. All bookings from June to September are fully staffed (cook, butler and house manager).

In the high season (July & August) a maid, cook and butler is included in the rental price. For the rest of the year a maid is included 6 days per week and the butler and cook can be arranged for an additional £750 per week.

The chateau is built around a central courtyard, and in typical Chartreuse style, all the rooms are contained on two floors.

The main entrance to the chateau leads through to the first floor, where the Grey Suite, with en suite bathroom, is situated, overlooking the valley of La Seoune and the rolling countryside to the South East. The Terrace Suite is also situated on the first floor, with en suite bathroom and opening onto the South West terrace with views down the valley and across the terraced gardens.

The Grand Salon and Dining Room, which also enjoy access to the South West terrace, lead through to the completely refurbished kitchen, which offers a beautiful La Cornue kitchen range, two refrigerators and dishwasher.

A great stone staircase leads down from the main entrance to the lower ground floor, where two further luxurious suites are available, both with adjoining bathrooms, a further salon and access to the South terrace which overlooks the lower park and rolling Quercy countryside.

The gardens surrounding the chateau offer a gardener’s delight, stocked with rare and beautiful plants to find and admire, and offer the guest tranquillity and quiet. The private swimming pool can be heated for free during the high season or for €150 per week outside of these weeks.

Situated in the heart of the Quercy region, renowned for its seasonal produce of melons, truffles, wild mushrooms and wines, the chateau is ‘just an hour’ away from the diverse and beautiful local region of South West France.

The local small town of Lauzerte is a 9km drive, offering sumptuous Saturday markets and vibrant music festivals during the summer; Montcuq, a renowned bastide village, is just further on from there towards the well-known Cahors region.

Golf at Agen and Villeneuve sur Lot, Tennis in the village of Touffailes (a key is offered for the guests’ use of the court), horse-riding at Lauzerte and Bourg de Visa for the physically inclined, and Spa and treatments from Moissac through to the nearby natural thermal spa at Lectoure – the list goes on, but not forgetting the French National Parachute School at Bouloc just nearby!

The chambres d’hotes at the chateau offers the guest fresh linens every two days for bed and bathroom and a daily cleaning service included.

Lunch (30€) and dinner (50€) may be arranged at the Chateau with prior notice to the Housekeeper. Wines are not included, and should guests wish to bring their own (having perhaps found some at the many local domains), no corkage fee is charged.

In the high season (July & August) a maid, cook and butler is included in the rental price. For the rest of the year a maid is included 6 days per week and the butler and cook can be arranged for an additional £750 per week.

Thank you for a wonderful stay – the hospitality, the warmth of the welcome and the attention to detail made for a superb experience.  The Chateau is beautifully situated in a commanding position on the top of a hill and, with the recent refurbishment completed it is truly an opportunity not to be missed. The food was exquisitely cooked, and with great variety and flair; the wine too is not to be missed! Our room is very comfortable and we loved the starched sheets – a rarity these days. Finally, once again, may we thank you for a wonderful time, sight-seeing, and for looking after us so well.
