If you’re looking for a chateau that offers top notch boutique-style accommodation with second-to-none service you’re in the right place. Discover the Gers in South West France, from a base that is as peaceful as it is stunning, whilst not far from the Spanish Basque country and Atlantic coast, Bordeaux, Toulouse and the glorious Pyrenees.
Chateau Petit is a stunning and stylishly renovated chateau, with every home comfort you could ask for. The chateau demonstrates the perfect marriage of grandeur with homeliness and modernity with tradition. Dating back to the middle ages, it has a long and interesting history and has been re-born by its current owners. Kate and Stephen are quite simply your dream hosts, bending over backwards to make sure you have everything you could want for a great holiday. Daily breakfast and maid service is included in the rental price.
The local area is one of the jewels in the crown of South West France - the Gers. The Gers is where people live longer, where life is slow and enjoys a quality that will take your breath away the first time you visit. Come and enjoy the wine, the food and the welcome. A stay at Chateau Petit will introduce you to or re-acquaint you with a France you thought had disappeared decades ago.
As you travel up the tree-lined drive you gain a notion of what to expect… you’ve seen the photos, you’ve read the text, but nothing truly prepares you for the integrity of this chateau with no stone left unturned from a style or comfort perspective. As soon as you walk in, you’ll be transported to holiday-mode - its light and airy feel, its grandeur and its style - all giving you just an inkling of what lies in store.

We stayed at the Chateau for two nights and had a wonderfully relaxed time in elegant & sumptuous surroundings. The Chateau enjoys wonderful views of the Pyrenees best appreciated from the terrace whilst sipping a glass of wine, enjoying bonhomie with the hosts Stephen and Kate and some of the other guests. We enjoyed Kate and Stephen’s company whilst sharing a delicious meal prepared by Kate, it is worth eating in if you can. Our visit was further enhanced by the Marciac jazz festival where live music and craft stalls and restaurants filled the old town square. We have already reserved for next year!

We found the Chateau on a driving tour round the South West of France near the village of Marciac and what a hidden little gem of a boutique hotel/chambre d'hote it is! Our room was large and spacious with a very comfortable bed decorated in a classical french style of understated elegance. Bathrooms were spotless and finished to an exacting standard. Lovely pool in front of the house surrounded by a wooded area. Kate and Stephen are suberb hosts and make you feel instantly welcome in the beautiful Petit Chateau. It feels like a home away from home. If you happen to be in the area looking for a place to stop for a few days then I can highly recommend it.

Have just returned from 2 weeks in touring in France, the Chateau was certainly the highlight of the trip - tucked away in a beautiful corner of France with fantastic views of the Pyrenees is this lovely small hotel, Kate and Stephen couldn't have made us feel more at home, they are great hosts and you feel more like old friends which have come to visit rather than a guest in a formal hotel. Kate is a wonderful cook everyone sits together around the dinner table for informal suppers which invariably stretch into very entertaining evenings. They have carefully renovated the Chateau, the bedrooms are charming and the bathrooms are spot on, they have a terrace where breakfast is served and a great pool area both with wonderful views. The surrounding area has plenty to offer, but to be honest we just relaxed and enjoyed the surroundings.
