This graceful Disney style chateau was built in 1575 and has three beautiful towers with turrets. The Chateau Chamborigaud is set in a 5 acre park in the Cevennes mountains and has the river Luech flowing along its boundary. Nimes airport is one hours drive away and the train station from Nimes/Paris is a 15 minute walk.
There is a substantial terrace around the chateau for dining and set within the park is a large heated outdoor swimming pool area with cuisine d’ete, a terrace for BBQ’s and a changing room.
The Chateau Chamborigaud is situated on the outskirts of a small village with adjacent tennis court, shopping, bars and restaurants and has many beautiful walks and drives. The area is renowned for its wild boar, chestnuts and mushrooms.
Ground Floor: Entrance hall. Kitchen with Godin range cooker and Smeg Fridge leading to the terrace. Lounge. Vaulted dining room with reception area leading to terrace with 24 place settings. Vaulted study with internet access and chapel. Lounge (children). WC. Utility Room. Wine cellar.
First Floor: Master Bedroom with 4 poster double bed and en-suite bathroom with roll-top bath and walk-in shower. Bedroom 2 with 4 poster single bed and en-suite bathroom leading to: Bedroom 3 with circular tower with mezzanine raised double bed (for children). Bedroom 4 with three single beds and en-suite shower room.
Second Floor: Bedroom 5 with double bed and en-suite bathroom. Bedroom 6 with double bed and en-suite bathroom. Bedroom 7 with double bed and en-suite bathroom leading to Bedroom 8 with circular tower with twin beds. Note: Additional single beds may easily be placed in Bedrooms 2,3,4,7.
Third Floor: Games room with snooker and table football and seating area.
Apartment: Bedrooms 9 and 10 (both doubles) share a bathroom. In addition there is a living room that can be made in to a further double bedroom if needed.
Outside: Large terrace for dining and aperitifs. Ornamental pond with fountain. River frontage to Le Luech. Heated swimming pool 16m x 6m with Cuisine d’ete (summer kitchen with fridge, sink and full lunch crockery), terraces with BBQ, changing room, and WC. Park area of 5 acres with trampoline, swings & slide. Go-kart track (optional). Pony/horse box paddock (optional). Guardian’s house (with full-time presence). 4x4 Suzuki Ignis (by arrangement). The property has the most beautiful river running along its boundary and it is along this river that you will find many beautiful places to take the children for fun and picnics. The kids can paddle, skim stones, use fishing nets to catch minnows and swim – all right outside the chateau! Our swimming pool is designed to allow all-day fun and has a special paddling section for youngsters and a seating section for the older ones!
A single tennis court is available, just opposite the end of our drive. The hard tennis court has just been refurbished and is owned and run by the Chamborigaud Mairie. There is very low usage and the charges are also very modest. Booking can easily be made through our guardian ideally in advance to avoid disappointment and the costs settled locally.

The local village of Chamborigaud is 10 minutes walk away with 3 small supermarkets, boulangerie, boucherie, tabac and wine shop.
There are two 18 hole golf-courses with a 1 hour drive towards Nimes and there is a 9 hole golf course near Villefort approx ½ hour drive. The area also has excellent trout fishing and there are several stocked lakes for children and where you can buy your catch for home cooking. The newly refurbished tennis court is 5 mins walk.
The whole area is adjacent to the Cevennes National Park area is renowned for its beautiful scenery and rivers and there are many walks through unspoilt countryside. There is skiing in the Cevennes at nearby Mas de la Barque and Mont Aigaoul – ski de fond (cross country) is the most common with a little downhill and tobogganing. These walks are also beautiful in the summer.
Flights - The chateau is one hours drive from Nimes (Garons) airport (Ryanair from Luton and East Midlands) or 1½ hours from Montpellier (Ryanair from Stansted or Easyjet from Gatwick) or 1¾ hours from Marseilles (British Airways from Gatwick).
Trains - Eurostar to Lille or Paris and then TGV to Nimes. From Nimes either taxi or train from Nimes to Chamborigaud (which goes ion to Clermont Ferrand) – the chateau is a 15 minute walk for the train station.
The area also has its own vineyards and free “degustations” (wine tastings) are expected and tours can be arranged. The area is rich in beautiful towns with nearby Uzes and the World Heritage Site of Pont du Gard – the Roman Aquaduct is also within an hour’s drive.
Ales is the nearest (20 mins drive) large town for shopping along with Nimes and it has the usual hypermarkets, ten-pin bowling and cinemas. Close by there is also a Doctor’s surgery which is less than 2 minutes drive away. The nearest hospital is 20 minutes away in Ales.
Walking – our estate is borded by the River Luech and there are some beautiful walks along its banks straight from the chateau grounds. The nearby village of Pont de Rastel is a short walk and is very beautiful.
Tennis – there is an adjacent tennis court very close to the property that has just been refurbished.
Go-Karts – we have 2 go-karts that can also be hired.
Restaurants – we can provide a list of local restaurants.
Pony/horse riding – this can be arranged locally and we can also hire them to stay for the duration of the visit.
Villefort – here there is a lake where you can hire pedallos, kayaks, sailing boats and go mountaineering, canyoning and potholing.
Other activities such as fishing, ten pin bowling and of course visits to wine making vineyards are all within easy reach. Higher up into the mountains, one can visit the ski resorts which in summer have beautiful walks and restaurants.
Included within the weekly hire package is a femme de ménage twice per week and additional visits may be arranged. The chateau also has a local chef who is available with prior notice and booking for the preparation of any meals including breakfast, lunch and dinner including doing all food shopping!
The chateau has a full-time Guardian and he and his wife are also available to undertake airport transfers, baby-sitting/child-minding and chauffeuring/taxi services. There is also a small 4 x 4 Suzuki Ignis available for use by guests. Special banquets and formal meals with canapés can also be arranged during your stay.

The approximate fee for arranging a wedding is £2000 but it depends on catering/wine/accommodation etc as well as set up time. Bookings for a weekend wedding including 2 nights accommodation are £5,750. If a wedding party wish to book the Chateau for the whole week as well as hold their wedding at the Chateau the price is £8,160 for the week.

Accommodation
22 guests can stay at the chateau. Immediate hotels 60 then Ales 20 mins away, or Villefort (30 mins away) rooms numbers are unlimited. Gites are also available.
Travel
Nimes is 1 hour away and is served by Luton or East Midlands. BA at Gatwick fly to Marseilles and from Stansted/Gatwick you can also fly to Montpellier. Eurostar to Paris, then Nimes and train to Chamborigaud.
