Chateau Flacelliere Keep

The historical Chateau de la Flacelliere is located in the Western Loire and is available for booking by the day, the week, the month or longer. It is the stunning Keep building next to the main chateau that is available for hire. The extensive grounds of the estate house a swimming pool (for guests use) and superb manicured gardens.

The Keep can sleep up to 10 guests and has a private garden with exotic trees and flowers, a barbeque dining terrace and plenty of garden furniture. For larger groups, up to 24, it is also possible to rent the neighbouring Pavilion (sleeps 10) adjacent to the Keep.

The Keep (a medieval tower) can sleep up to 10 guests in its romantic bedrooms that have been furnished with beautiful antiques.  The beds are top of the range with brand new linen, and there are televisions in each of the 5 double rooms.

On the ground floor you will enjoy the expansive medieval dining room with its large fireplace and window that opens out from a very thick wall in to the garden. The kitchen is equipped with all the modern conveniences you could wish. On the first floor is the comfortable sitting room with its unique fresco painted ceiling. Sit by the large gothic fireplace in the wonderful antique furniture. Also on this floor is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom.

On the second floor there are two more double bedrooms that share a bathroom. On the third floor there are another two double/twin bedrooms that share a bathroom. You can enjoy a real wood fire at extra cost or absolutely free by collecting the wood in the park. There is a table tennis table available for all guests.

The Keep has a private garden with exotic trees and flowers, a barbeque dining terrace and plenty of garden furniture. We recommend a picnic by the pond! Also within the grounds of the estate you will find the swimming pool with sun loungers. You will find ample parking in front of the Chateau.

There is a village close by where you will find small shops and a supermarket. There is also a bank, cash machine, a doctors clinic, chemist, restaurant, café which is in Pouzauges 7km away. There is a tennis court in the village which is within walking distance. There are excellent golf courses and horse riding possibilities within 25 minutes of the castle.

Nantes International airport is 70km away. Trips to the famous Loire chateaux and vineyards are of course possible.

Should you wish, you can also enjoy fine gourmet dining with the Viscount and Viscountess in the main chateau. Exquisite table settings, antique silver, sparkling crystal, fine porcelain and fresh flowers from the chateau garden will adorn the table.

Facilities available for weddings, special events, honeymoon, seminars, etc.

The Pavilion has a telephone and the phone bill must be settled before you leave the castle. The chateau also has WiFi internet connection.

- Security deposit: €1000. The security deposit is paid on arrival and will be refunded in full after departure subject to damage inspection.
- Linen & towels: Linen and towels are included in the rental price, changed each week. Please remember to bring your own pool towels.
- Energy costs: Included in the rental price. There may be a charge in the winter.
- End of stay cleaning: €200.
- Arrival time: 4pm onwards.
- Departure time: 10am.
- Swimming pool : The swimming pool (14m x 6m) is available between 9AM and midday and 2PM and 7PM. The swimming pool is not available between midday and 2PM. No food is allowed at the pool. A gate with code number do not allow small children to enter at the swimming pool without adults. The pool is shared between guests at the chateau, the keep and the pavilion.
- Pets: Please enquire.
- Smoking: No smoking in the property.
- It is recommended that all guests take out insurance to cover against potential cancellation and any accidental damage caused during your stay at the property.
