Chateau De Giats

After a period of intense renovation the beautiful Chateau de Giats is now available for holiday rentals. The property has 8 bedrooms to comfortably sleep up to 15 adults.

The chateau belonged, until recently, to the 'De-Noblat' family. It's last noble occupant being a Count in 1995. Historically the family were at Court in the palace of Versailles.

The property is set within 29,000 square metres of grounds, and the grand staircase is made from local volcanic rock. There is a computer room situated in one of the turrets that has wireless internet access. Chateau de Giats makes a wonderful self catering holiday for large groups of family or friends.

The chateau sits on the top of a hill overlooking the small market town below. To the rear are views over the surrounding countryside and forests, yet it is within easy walking distance of all amenities.

The local town hosts one of the largest markets in the regions every two weeks throughout the year. It also has antiques fairs, and other events such as the classic car fete and grand town fete which lasts for three days in August. The area boasts numerous mountains and lakes.

Local activities include fishing, horse-riding, balloon flights, 'Volcania' museum and theme park, skiing in the winter at the beautiful Mont Dor resort, and the city of Clermont Ferrand, which has many shops, restaurants, a historic centre and the most fantastic gothic cathedral.
