Set on the hill above the beautiful village of Trėmolat and commanding stunning views over the Dordogne Valley and the wonderful countryside that surrounds it, this historic property offers flexible accommodation to both small and large parties. With 9 well equipped bedrooms, sleeping up to 18 with all but one of the bedrooms having access to en-suite facilities, it is an ideal holiday retreat. The Guest Wing offers Ground Floor accommodation with separate access.

The chateau which traces its origins to the 14th century was re-built by the Lavergne family in 1741 and remained as the ancestral home until 1960. Known historically as a “Noble retreat” and set within 9 hectares of estate, there are outdoor living areas for everyone. The dining terrace is large and basks in the sun yet has mature trees including a magnificent lime tree for well needed shade. The 10m x 5m pool is heated and is fenced and alarmed for security. There are Roman steps which are ideal for smaller children or even adults who just wish to relax in the pool. There are plenty of sun loungers around the pool if you prefer to keep dry!

The property is surrounded by it grounds and there are large lawned and garden areas to three sides of the house with the terrace creating the fourth side with spectacular views over the valley.

Set just a couple of kilometres from the local village of Trėmolat, the property is a blissful rural retreat, yet is still easily accessible from Bergerac, Brive and Bordeaux Airports.

Main House
- Bedroom 1: A stunning Master Bedroom set into the eaves upstairs with a Queen size bed, armoire, chest of drawers, dressing table and full size mirror. The en-suite bathroom has double basin, bath, WC and towel rail.
- Bedroom 2: A gorgeous double bedroom again set into the eaves with armoire and chest of drawers. Just outside the bedroom there is a bathroom with basin and separate WC.
- Bedroom 3: A pretty Twin room this bedroom also shares the family bathroom above so is ideal as a children’s room. A cot can also be placed into this room or any other. There is also an additional single bed on the landing.There is also an additional single bed on the landing which can be placed in either double bedroom upstairs.
- Bedroom 4: Set on the Ground Floor, this single bedroom has a shower-room just next door.
- Bedroom 5: A large double bedroom on the ground floor with views over the valley, this bedroom has an en-suite with large walk in shower, bath, vanity unit with basin and WC.
- Bedroom 6: This bedroom is a large double with Queen sized bed. It is accessed from the Drawing room. It has its own en-suite bathroom with bath, basin and WC.
- Bedroom 7: This is a double bedroom which can be either accessed through bedroom 6 or from its own separate access from the exterior courtyard. Again it has an en-suite bathroom with bath, basin and WC.

Guest Wing
- Bedroom 8: A double bedroom which is accessed from the exterior front courtyard. It has an ensuite shower-room with shower, basin and WC.
- Bedroom 9: A double bedroom which is accessed from the exterior front courtyard. It has an ensuite shower-room with shower, basin and WC.

The Chateau is set in the quiet countryside of the Dordogne Valley and the Perigod Noir, just a couple of kilometres outside the charming village of Trėmolat. The River Dordogne is well known for its beaches, canoeing, fishing and other activities such as boat trips and cruiser hire. In addition, Trėmolat has a “Base Nautique” with water ski-ing and canoeing. For more cultural activities, there are churches, gardens, frescoes, caves and museums all within a short drive of the Chartreuse. The area is full of activities for the whole of the family if you can tear yourself away from the pool-side.

It is 38km to the bustling town of Bergerac with its International Airport and many excellent restaurants and shops. There are over 40 picturesque and historic bastide towns to visit in the area such as Beaumont and Monpazier. Limeuil is just 7 kms away where the Dordogne and Vezere rivers meet. An ideal place to hire canoes to explore both rivers!

A part of France renowned for its gastronomy, the daily morning markets are a must for the visitor as well as all the local restaurants that cater for pretty much every budget and style. For a special treat, there is the Michelin star restaurant, Le Vieux Logis, just two kilometres away in Trėmolat village. Trėmolat also has a small village shop, a bistro restaurant, pizzeria/bar and boulangerie.

The Chateau is ideally located for easy access by both car and plane. Bergerac Airport is 38km (about 45 mins) away and Brive Airport is 118km (about 1hr 30 mins) to the East. Bordeaux Airport is just over a 2hr drive away (190km) to the West.

Staff
- Weekly maid service (4 hours).
- Extra services can be arranged such as catering and babysitting.

- Security deposit: £750. This is paid on arrival and will be refunded in full after departure subject to damage inspection.
- Linen & towels: Included.
- In Low and Mid Season, electricity and heating are not included.
- End of stay cleaning: Included.
- Arrival time: 4pm onwards.
- Departure time: 10am.
- Pets: No.
- Smoking: No smoking in the property.
- The pool is heated by a heat pump to 26 degrees. It can be heated further for an additional charge. Please enquire.
- It is recommended that all guests take out insurance to cover against potential cancellation and any accidental damage caused during your stay at the property.
