L'eveque Cottage

Located in the grounds of the Manoir de l'Eveque is this luxurious traditional French cottage. Giving easy access to the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, Saint Jean de Luz and the excellent surfing beaches this part of France has to offer. Biarritz is a few minutes away and two highly rated golf courses, “Chantaco” and “La Nivelle”, are within 10 minutes drive.

Both the cottage and the Manoir de l'Eveque have now been fully restored by the current proprietors who have managed to maintain its original style, with the Coats of Arms, the friezes, the carved images, and the antique furniture, one can sense the history at the Manoir de l'Eveque. This luxurious French cottage sleeps 4 guests and has its own private garden. Daily maid service is included in the rental price.

The cottage comfortably accommodates 4 or 5 guests. On the ground floor the entrance hall leads directly onto the reception/dining room that in turn leads straight to the kitchen. There is also a spectacular terrace allowing for outdoor meals surrounded by beautiful scenery views across the valley to the Atlantic Ocean. A single bedroom and bathroom can be found on the ground floor. On the first floor there is a double and a twin bedroom.

The Manoir de l'Eveque sits along a path lined with rows of large ancient oak trees, where a walking trail leads to the village of Ascain. The Manor and the Cottage are encircled by stone walls, originally constructed for during the religious wars. Through the ancient stone entrance, a courtyard with paved terrace enters onto the centre lawn. There are BBQ facilities on site. Looking south from the courtyard there is the enchanting “jardin de curé”, and to the west, one can look over the peaceful gardens and across to the Spanish mountains.

Beaches are within 10 minutes drive, in Saint Jean de Luz, and the municipal swimming pool is 8 minutes drive from the Chateau. Two highly rated golf courses of the Basque Country, “Chantaco” and “La Nivelle”, are within 10 minutes drive.

The Manoir de l'Eveque rests outside the village of Ascain, looking up at the spectacular “La Rhune” mountain, and faces picturesque countryside backed by the Atlantic Ocean. The Manor is surrounded by acres of farmland and woodlands lined with ancient wild oak trees. The manoir is 30 minutes from the Biarritz International airport. Spain is not far away and should one wish to TGV to Paris, the journey time is 5 hours.
 

An hour of maid service is provided daily. For any other catering or services, please contact the owner prior to booking.

- Security deposit: €700. The security deposit is paid on arrival and will be refunded in full after departure subject to damage inspection.
- Linen & towels: All linen and towels are included in the rental price.
- Energy costs: Included in the rental price. There may be a charge for the low seasons.
- End of stay cleaning: Included in the rental price.
- Arrival time: 4pm onwards.
- Departure time: 10am.

- Smoking: No smoking in the property.
- It is recommended that all guests take out insurance to cover against potential cancellation and any accidental damage caused during your stay at the property.
