Villa Foulone

Villa Foulone is an exclusive villa rental, near Nice and the French Riviera. Close to Gourdon, Greolieres, Vence, St Paul, Grasse, Bar sur Loup and Tourettes, it is also within easy reach of the Cote d'Azur. This is the perfect place to relax and unwind from the stress of modern living. We have combined the modern style you would expect to find in a French boutique hotel with the classic Provencal features of this charismatic building.

The spacious lounge and cocktail bar lead into the dining room with panoramic mountain views. Combined with the large river-fronted garden it's ideal for a group holiday, a celebration, wedding or simply a great party.

You cannot really compare Foulone to renting a villa in any way except for the price. Where else do you find 9 large bedrooms, each with their own modern en suite bathroom, truly spacious living areas or indeed a large semi-commercial kitchen that will have the budding Gordon Ramsay's among you whipping up a culinary feast?

Whilst retaining many of the original features our 6 luxury bedrooms and 3 suites were created from scratch, and provide absolute comfort. Our superking sized beds offer the most comfortable mattresses made up with Egyptian cotton. All our rooms have very large showers and with endless hot water supplied at high pressure there is no better way to start the day. 3 of our rooms have original roll top baths that have been fully restored and 3 more have modern baths. Where better to relax with your favourite tipple from the mini bar?

But these are man made pleasures, and the serenity of falling asleep to the gentle babble of the river Loup harmonising with the summer crickets is unique to the house. There is no light pollution here, and apart from the cycle of the pin sharp moon, the nights are truly dark.

Outside there are 16 acres of prairie, extensive woodland and two rivers. In addition we have a private pool with sun loungers and a neighbouring dining terrace.

Whatever you like to do on holiday you can do it alll here. When we left our London lives to create our dream villa it wasn't by accident that we chose this part of the world - it is mind boggling what is on offer, and whilst we try to include all information below, we can only begin to do the area justice.

The best kept secret of Provence is that it offers some great little ski resorts. Combine a cheap flight to Nice with a relaxing Winter break, plenty for non-skiers to do and some fun slopes with amazing views to the Mediterranean.

Lizzy Hearmon is a fully qualified British messeur and therapist living in nearby Grasse and can offer treatments in the comfort of your own room here at the villla.

If shopping is your thing then you've come to the right place. High fashion in Cannes, antique fairs, even a yacht can be bought off the shelf on the Cote d'Azur.

Whatever floats your boat, this part of the World delivers with an abundance of history, culture, nature and above all, a fine lunch. Local towns include Gourdon, Greolieres, Vence, Tourettes sur Loup, St Paul de Vence, Grasse, Bar sur Loup, Pont du Loup and the Canyon du Verdon.

There is an unfathomable variety of sporting opportunities nearby, from the lazy to the plain scary. There are 7 World-class golf courses only half an hours drive from here.

There are some superb restaurants to try whilst you are on holiday. Our favourites range from a long lazy lunch with a view, to a Michelin starred experience. There is even a Michael Winner favourite in our village.

If you would like one or more evenings catered during your stay then we can provide a set 3 course menu using the finest local ingredients. Whether it's a special occasion or just your first night on holiday, let our chef service provide a great meal and clean up afterwards.

We only a do a handful of weddings each year as we aim to make your day special, unique and everything you ever dreamed of. Have a blessing surrounded by Provencal countryside, a champagne reception to the unmistakable sounds of an accordion, before sitting down to a long relaxing dinner and an evening dancing under the stars. It's a magical location for a very special day.

We can comfortably seat 72 people indoors, but for most of the year the reception is held in the courtyard under the shade of an enormous horse chestnut tree. We have contacts for live music, flowers and will arrange all of your catering needs - especially tailored to your taste and budget.

In July and August it is necessary to book all of Villa Foulone for a week, but in the spring and autumn it is possible for a 4 night reservation across a weekend. Below are some outline costs, but please contact us for a bespoke quote for your unique day.

These prices include accommodation for up to 26 adults in 13 rooms for 4 or 7 nights. They also include the infrastructure (tables, chairs, crockery, glasses, etc) for a sit down wedding reception for up to 72 guests. Plus the cost includes our expertise and time in making your day everything you ever dreamed of. The catering and bar arrangements for the wedding day are extra, and are outlined below. For the remainder of your stay you may wish to be fully or part catered (at extra cost), or self-catered.

CATERING, BAR AND DANCING

We can do pretty much anything you want, from a rustic Provencal barbecue to a sit down 5 course meal. One thing all our wedding bookings have chosen is a Croquembouche for the dessert. This is a traditional French celebratory dessert, and is a huge pyramid of vanilla ice cream filled choux pastries, held together with caramel, decorated with sugared almonds and served with chocolate sauce. A delicious dessert and wedding cake in one with a wow factor that has everyone reaching for their camera.

It is necessary to use our bar and wine list for a wedding booking, but we have very reasonable prices and the bar will stay open until the last dad has finished dancing. Below is a suggestion of price based on a simple but delicious meal and a drink estimate which in our experience evens out just right between the abstemious and the thirsty.

ADDITIONAL ACCOMMODATION AND TRANSPORT

There is plenty of accommodation within a short drive of the villa to house all your guests. We can provide a list and a description of each one. From luxury villas to simple self-catered gites, even camp sites and chateau hotels, there is something to suit all your friends and family not staying at villa Foulone.

In order to see everyone home safe and sound after the wedding day we highly recommend that you hire a 7 seat people carrier and take advantage of a local who will ferry people through the evening and all night if necessary for a flat fee of €150.

- Security deposit: €1000. This is paid on arrival and will be refunded in full after departure subject to damage inspection.
- Linen & towels: All linen and bath towels are included in the rental price.
- Energy costs: Included in the rental price.
- End of stay cleaning: Included. Please leave the property in the state that you found it.
- Arrival time: 4pm onwards.
- Departure time: 10am.
- Pets: Please enquire.
- Smoking: No smoking in the property.
- It is recommended that all guests take out insurance to cover against potential cancellation and any accidental damage caused during your stay at the property.
