Chateau De Lindee

The Chateau de Lindee sits dramatically on the edge of the River Dordogne in an unequalled setting. The Chateau has 5 double bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, and can sleep up to 10 guests in superb comfort. The chateau has a private pool and a terrace with sensational views over the Dordogne. The Chateau De Lindee is situated on the edge of an attractive village with a variety of shops and restaurants. The rental includes the exclusive use of all the chateau facilities, with the exception of the kitchen as the owners will prepare food for you by arrangement, and a continental breakfast each morning. Any other meals can be arranged with the owner upon demand.

One recent guest at the chateau declared "I think I have died and gone to heaven!". The owner Wilna lives in a self-contained part of the chateau to provide breakfast each morning (included in the rental price) and to make sure that you're well looked after during your stay.

The entire ground floor leads out onto the terrace that actually hangs out over the River Dordogne! There is a beautifully renovated kitchen (complete with rotisserie and 'salamander' grill), dining room, living room and conference room. All the rooms have doors that open out onto the terrace with breathtaking views of the river Dordogne below. The spiral staircase takes you to the first and second floors and the bedrooms.

On the first floor there is a landing with an open sitting area and a library complete with a balcony overlooking the river. There are 3 large double bedrooms, each with a modern marble en-suite bathroom and superb views. The spiral staircase takes you up to the second floor (medieval tower) where there are 2 further double bedrooms each with an en-suite bathroom.

Outside the terrace juts out dramatically over the Dordogne, the setting is perfect for outdoor dining and cocktails. The pool side of the chateau is walled for total privacy. The infinity pool creates a feeling of swimming right on the edge of the river itself and is both alarmed and fenced. There is plenty of outdoor furniture surrounding the pool. The chateau also has private stairs down to the Dordogne river edge, allowing you to fish right there at the foot of the chateau. The chateau also has 3 bicycles available.

The Chateau De Lindee sits on the edge of a village so all the required shops and restaurants are within a few minutes walk. The chateau's location is ideally suited to make it your base for exploring the surrounding regions. Bergerac (25km) and Bordeaux (120km), both international airports, are within easy reach.

Enjoy the historic Bastide towns of the Aquitaine, the Dordogne Valley, the chateaux, a rich choice of some of the the best food and wine that France has to offer. The notable regional specialities include the finest foie gras, truffles, walnuts, duck and goats cheese. When it comes to golf, within a radius of about 50km, there are at least 30 golf courses to choose from.

Catering: A full continental breakfast is included (fruit juice, fruit or fruit salad with yoghurt, fresh pastries, bread butter and jam, tea or coffee). Lunches, suppers and picnics can be ordered at the chateau. The chateau offers a choice of wine and spirits, aperitifs and liqueurs. Ask for suggestions of wide range of local restaurants and other local treats.

Services: A complimentary glass of wine awaits guests upon arrival. There are fresh flowers in each room, as well as a file with brochures and information about the local area. If guests have specific interests, they will be provided with the necessary information about availability, access and bookings. Itineraries can be planned to best benefit from the variety of activities and sights in the area and the time available.

Babysitting and extra maid service can be arranged. All rooms are equipped with television sets (4 French channels only). Satellite TV (Sky, BBC, CNN) available. WiFi available throughout the chateau. The chateau has a good reception for mobile phones for those wishing to stay in touch.

- Security deposit: €500. This is paid on arrival and will be refunded in full after departure subject to damage inspection.
- Linen & towels: All linen and towels are included in the rental price.
- Energy costs: Included in the rental price. There may be a charge for the low seasons. 
- End of stay cleaning: There is a €300 cleaning charge. The property is cleaned before arrival of guests and upon departure and/or once per week. If extra cleaning over and above normal cleaning is required after guests have left, this will be deducted from security deposit. Daily or extra cleaning required by guests during stay, i.e. daily maid service is available at €12 per hour.

- Wine: The chateau offers a wide selection of wines available during your stay. If you wish to bring your own wine a corkage charge will apply.
