Chateau De Theleme

The majestic family-owned Chateau de Theleme dates back to the 14th and 17th Centuries and can be found in the centre of the "Triangle of Prehistory." Only a short drive from numerous historic sites and landmarks - the Lascaux caves, chateaux such as the feudal fortress of Commarque and the medieval jewel of Sarlat. Guests will not be short on places to visit should they wish to explore the local area.

The Chateau de Theleme offers panoramic views of the entire valley right up to the Dordogne and boasts an impressive 20 hectares of grounds. The beautiful local countryside is one of the chateau’s main selling points, but for those who prefer to relax, guests can enjoy lazy days in the sun on one of the several loungers around the chateau’s large private pool. The rental also includes complimentary maid service (3 visits per week) to really help you unwind.

The chateau is fully equipped with all modern comforts, yet still manages to keep its historic grandeur and rustic charm, with its stunning original antiques and period features. The chateau is encircled by 20 hectares of private grounds with forests, woods, meadows and hiking trails, and enjoys a private pool (12mx6m) with built-in, salt filtration, located on a neighbouring terrace. For racket sports enthusiasts, there are facilities for badminton and table tennis. There is plenty of parking and garden furniture for al fresco dining. The chateau can comfortably accommodate up to twelve guests in its seven bedrooms. Maid service and pool cleaning are also included.

On the ground floor is the sizeable and fully functional kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher. The dining-room opens out onto a large outdoor terrace. The sitting room comes with an impressive fireplace and Satellite TV. Also on this floor is a double bedroom with en suite bathroom.

On the first floor are 2 twins, 2 doubles and a single bedroom. Three of these bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and the other two share a separate bathroom. There is also an additional WC.

The chateau is ideally situated only 15km from the Ryanair airport of Bergerac. The nearest town is Le Buisson de Cadouin (3km away) for restaurants and essential shops. The local supermarket is only 1km from the chateau.

Recommended things to do during your stay include the daily markets in the local area, golf course (1 km), canoe trips (1km), tennis courts (1km), wine caves in Le Buisson de Cadouin (3km), fishing in Dordogne (1km) and lake (3km) and the excellent local restaurants.

A chef (who previously worked at Lenôtre in Paris) is 500 euros per meal for 8 to 15 persons.

Maid service 3 days per week is included in the rental price. Additional cleaning is available for 10 euros per hour.

- Capacity: The property comfortably sleeps 11 adults and 1 infant.
- Security deposit: €1000. This is paid on arrival and will be refunded in full after departure subject to damage inspection.
- Linen & towels: All linen and towels are included in the rental price.
- Energy costs: Included in the rental price.
- End of stay cleaning: Included. In addition 3 hours of maid service is included 3 times per week.
- Arrival time: 4pm onwards.
- Departure time: 10am.
- Pets: No pets allowed.
- Smoking: No smoking in the property.
- Bookings: Please note that the chateau is only available for 2 week bookings in the peak season.
- It is recommended that all guests take out insurance to cover against potential cancellation and any accidental damage caused during your stay at the property.
