Chateau De Ruffiac

In the south-west of France, in the heart of Périgord Noir, the castle of Ruffiac overlooks the Dordogne valley. This French holiday chateau was beautifully restored in the 19th century to a very high standard and reflects the French renaissance style. This former noble castle that dates back to the 17th century is surrounded by a 20-hectare park with views over the Dordogne River (1km away) and private hiking paths.

Today, the Chateau de Ruffiac is the ideal holiday place to discover Périgord, the Medieval market town of Sarlat and the popular Dordogne region. The chateau is a haven for peace and beauty, offering incredible panoramic views over the surrounding countryside from either of its two towers. Maid service during your stay is included in the rental price.

Rooms at the chateau are elegant and tastefully representative of the French style. The lucky guests that rent the chateau will enjoy all its amenities including nine bedrooms (6 doubles, 2 twins, a single), two living rooms with large Renaissance fireplaces, a vast and fully equipped kitchen (Godin cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, all equipment), a dining room, an inner courtyard and two boudoirs in the towers. The castle has six bathrooms and four WCs. Other facilities include: phone, fax, internet connection, TV set with international channels, HIFI, babyfoot & table tennis. All bed linen is supplied free of charge. There is a spare bedroom that can be used as a dormitory for children.

Outside the chateau sits in a 20-hectare park with private hiking paths. It is even possible to access the chateau by helicopter! There is also a garage and a private alarmed swimming pool.

The chateau is located 5 minutes from the pretty village of Carlux, half-way between Souillac and Sarlat, the medieval capital of the Perigord Noir. It sits in the heart of all the major Quercy and Perigord areas of interest.

Beynac and its splendid feudal fortress, Fayrac, Les Milandes, Puymartin, etc. The chateau is also close to numerous leisure activities, such as boat cruises on the Dordogne, hot-air ballooning, canoeing and golf.

Catering is available at the chateau for 20-30 euros per hour. 6 hours of maid service is included in the rental price and additional service is possible upon request. Babysitting is also possible.

- Capacity: The property comfortably sleeps 12 adults and 6 children or teenagers. Rental prices are based on groups of 16. 2 additional guests can be added for an extra €200 per person.
- Security deposit: €1000. This is paid on arrival and will be refunded in full after departure subject to damage inspection.
- Linen & towels: All linen and bath towels are included in the rental price.
- Energy costs: Heating charged to expenditure in winter.
- End of stay cleaning: Included. Please leave the property in the state that you found it.
- Arrival time: 3pm onwards.
- Departure time: 11am.

- Smoking: Yes - on the ground floor.
- It is recommended that all guests take out insurance to cover against potential cancellation and any accidental damage caused during your stay at the property.
