Chateau La Thulliere combines elegance and intimacy, encouraging you to feel at home from the moment you arrive - a true 'home away from home'. The Château La Thulliere is set in beautiful parkland, surrounded by woods and fields. Breakfast each morning and daily maid service is included in the rental price.

Inspired by legend and love, Chateau La Thulliere was built in 1889 as a fabulous summer residence for the prosperous Mr. Michel Petit's fiancée, Madame Claire Angeline Beguerie. According to legend, St Front killed a dragon that was menacing the village, thus becoming a symbol of the triumph of courage over adversity. This legend was the inspiration for the Tudor style of architecture of the chateau

It is, however, more than simply a building that history has left its mark on. A wealth of period details combine with modern amenities to create the perfect hideaway. The Chateau La Thulliere epitomizes the authentic archictecture and furnishings of the period while offering all modern luxury allowing you to relax and leave you refreshed and full of wonderful memories.

Under the direction of Barcelona designer LLorenç Padrell a total renovation was carried out in all areas of the chateau respecting the original structure of the C19th castle. The chateau now offers a combination of the original elements, such as the grand chimneys, tapestries and stained glass panels, together with contemporary furniture, the latest appliances and all the amenities that could be expected by our cosmopolitan clients. All details are taken car of for you: flat screen TV sets, a choice of pillows and Nespresso coffee machines in each room, fresh flowers and fruit of the season, by courtesy of the house.

The 8 bedrooms, all of them with en-suite bathrooms, are spacious and luminous, with a layout designed for your comfort in every detail. Beautiful traces of a noble past can be seen in the marble chimneys, grand mirrors and elegant ceiling mouldings. All rooms comes with king size beds (that can be twinned), toiletries from Gilchrist and Soames (London), luxury bathrobe and soft slippers, hair-drier, and nespresso capsules.

The original chateau kitchen, located in the basement, has been renovated keeping its large fireplace and old monastery table whilst adding all the necessary appliances needed in a modern professional kitchen. This is where breakfast is served and any cookery courses take place. The large dining room has a magnificent imperial table (sits 20 people) that looks over the surrounding park through its large windows. The living room has a number of plush sofas in front of a roaring fire in what used to be the old dance parlour. The billiard room was once the cigar salon and is now the space for a french billiard table and the library. The Hall has a unique XIX century table displaying some books and guides; on the back, besides the staircase leading to the first floor, you will find some sofas and the honesty bar refrigerator.

Read a book in a gently rocking hammock in the garden, stroll through the woods, taking refuge from the heat of the day among the pine trees; these are just some of the simple pleasures to enjoy here.

Great comfortable feeling, loved the quality and cleanliness of the bedrooms. Dinner was superb. It has its large own grounds, and at night it was great to just hear....complete silence!

We stayed for five days at La Thulliere and I sincerely have nothing but good things to say. This is definetely your place if you wanna visit Perigord or just want to get away from your noisy city and wind down. Moreover, it has a Michelin-Star-deserved cuisine so we had dinner every night at the hotel. They also took this into account and the chef (Cristian) prepared different menus each night so we didn't have to repeat. Jordi (one of the owners) is a great Cicerone and helped us a lot recommending villages and places to visit. In short, beautiful rooms, thoughtful staff, first-class cuisine and peaceful surroundings for a very pleasant experience. We'll back for sure!

My wife and I spent 2 nights at La Thulliere in July and had a fantastic time. It's a beautiful place but what really sets it apart is the oustanding, personal service from Jordi and the team (and Patch). I've travelled the world and stayed in some very expensive hotels, but you rarely come across people with such genuine enthusiasm and a desire to make sure you enjoy your stay. Although there's not much in the immediate (walkable) vacinity of the house it's very near the motorway and would be a great base for touring the area and it's many lovely towns. The house has been beautifully restored and we really enjoyed getting to see 'downstairs' and the kitchen, and learning the history of the place. We got upgraded on arrival and our room was vast. We ate there both nights, the food was superb and for the price, really good value. The wine list was also good and very reasonable. We would really recommend giving this place (and the food) a try if you are a fan of stylish, boutique hotels and brilliant service.

We had the immense pleasure of staying in the enchanting, beautiful and atmospheric La Thulliere in early July. From the moment we arrived our host Jordi made us feel at home and gave us a tour of the beautifully and tastefully restored country house. Jordi has been the kindest and most welcoming host that we have come across during our long stay in France. From the romantic bedrooms to the lavish sitting room and impressive lobby the overall décor and attention to detail is second to none. We also had the pleasure of enjoying one of the finest dining experiences ever when having dinner in the garden overlooking the chateau/house. The food created by Jordi’s chief was worthy of a Michelin star (or two) An amazing find and an unexpected pleasure. We also thoroughly enjoyed the excellent drinks mixed with Spanish style in a wonderful, first class French accommodation. Truly 5 star…
