"We indulged in fantasies of nobility.. the chateau is probably smarter now than it ever was when it was owned by the Duc D'Isly."
There is plenty of room here for a large party to spread out, with large formal areas, cosy corners and a great deal of outdoor space. Much of the interior is suitably splendid.
Within 15 minutes of the chateau there is a lake (with beach sand) for fishing, water skiing and canoeing. There are also local tennis courts and horse riding facilities. Within walking distance of the chateau one can find 2 bakeries, a butcher, a supermarket and there's an outdoor market once a week in the village. A new golf course is only 7 minues by car.
Wine tastings can be held at the château. There are large supermarkets in St Yrieux. Within 15 minutes there are several excellent restaurants. Bergerac is 128km from the chateau.
The closest airports are Limoges (50 minutes),
Bergerac (90 minutes) and Bordeaux (2 hours). There are good train connection from Paris to Limoges (3 hours).
