For those of you that have visited the tropical island of Bali, Indonesia, the stunning Chateau Asturias will seem quite familiar! This is a superb castle for rent that has been tastefully decorated throughout.

The Chateau Asturias is located in the Languedoc-Roussillion, and sits on the edge of a pretty village. The Chateau has 6 luxury bedrooms that can sleep 12 guests in absolute comfort. The dramatic raised stone swimming pool is unique and the chateau is one of the most popular castles in the Oliver's Travels collection.

On the ground floor there is living room with beautiful views across the gardens. There is a library/media room so one can be entertained or simply relax. Enjoy the state of the art kitchen and dining room.

On the first floor there are three bedrooms, all with floor to ceiling french doors leading to the front balcony. The grand master-bedroom has an elegant teak wood king-size poster bed, an elegant boudoir, en-suite bathroom and windows with views onto the garden. The second and third rooms are large and comfortable, both with teak wood queen-size beds and their own private bathrooms.
On the second floor there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The first room contains twin beds and the second & third come with queen beds.

The Zen like garden evokes the atmosphere of the past, from the 800 year old chateau walls to the 12th century original gargoyles. The garden also comes with a dramatic raised stone 3 x 6 meter swimming pool surrounded by beautiful foliage, an abundance of flowers and sculptures that will inspire.

The village is about a 15 minute drive to Carcassonne where there are great shops and restaurants. There is a 4-star restaurant just a couple of minutes walk from the chateau, along with an epicerie, general store (that sells great wines & cheeses) and a butcher. Taxis are readily available should you not fancy driving.

The Chateau Asturias is close to Carcassonne and the coast. The South of France and Languedoc have such a diverse landscape. There are stylish and chic yacht ports, rolling valleys, rivers, a great and very evident Medieval history, Mediterranean beaches, wonderful cities and a fantastic climate.

Some of France’s best chateaux are found in the South of France and Languedoc region, and it’s a wonderful place to enjoy a chateau holiday in France.

The chateau offers wine tasting and a mobile shop stops in front of the chateau 3 times weekly selling wonderful local bread, fish, meats and fruit.

  • Great Holiday, in spite of..

Terrific individual property in lovely village setting. for the money paid tho, the service from the local management team was poor and the attention to detail that could have made this a very special holiday was missing. No meet and greet, not cleaned properly for our arrival, no information at all on Chateau and its amenities, no info on local area for practical purpose or leisure purposes (not even location of nearest Doctor etc). Oven and Fridge Freezer need attention, light bulbs blown and not changed, dirty windows. HOWEVER, the property and location are fantastic and we had a great holiday. Just need to get the little things right

  • I want to thank you for a great week
