Situated on the site of a small medieval castle, this superb Napoleon III chateau is ideally placed to visit all of Normandy’s top tourist sites - including the Bayeux Tapestry, Mont St Michel and the D-Day beaches. Located just outside the cathedral city of Coutances in four acres of parkland, Le Castelet is also within easy reach of deserted beaches with magnificent sand dunes. It has golf courses and horse riding nearby, a splash pool and two pet llamas that can also provide entertainment should you wish to take them for a walk!
The Chateau Le Castelet, built in 1870, was originally a judge’s summer house and has a classic feel with its two turrets and enormous entertaining room (over 76 square metres) with an impressive white baby grand piano. French windows open out onto a sun terrace, whilst upstairs provides 6 luxurious bedrooms, each with en suite bath or shower rooms. Downstairs there is also a library with UK TV, a large kitchen, and a laundry room.
Le Castelet is a perfect venue for family reunions, celebrations or small business events. It can either be rented on a self catering basis, or as a B&B with daily cleaning. Delicious suppers, lunches and picnics can be provided whichever option you choose. It is accessible by air, flying to Dinard from Stanstead, Bristol or East Midlands, or is just over an hour away from the ferry ports of Cherbourg, St Malo or Caen. Alternatively, it is just 3 hours from Paris by train.

The ferry ports of Caen and Cherbouirg are both 65 minutes away. Le Castelet is cosy in winter with wood burners and effective central heating.
€250 per person based on a minimum of ten guests. Additional guests can be accommodated in a cottage in the four acres of grounds. Total number of guests should not exceed 14 in the chateau and cottage. There is a 65 euro supplement per person for Easter, school holidays and bank holidays.
